SHOTGUN 6

Date: 01-Mar-2016 – 12-Nov-2017

Location: Contemporary Art Tasmania

Shotgun is a flexible exhibition and curatorial model designed to deliver targeted support and opportunity to Tasmanian artists. Shotgun 6 has been awarded to Rob O’Connor and Nadege Philippe-Janon.

Shotgun responds to fluctuating contemporary art ecologies locally and nationally and to the shifting knowledge, skills and aspirations of Tasmanian artists. Beginning in 2010 the Shotgun series of projects is the outcome of a public private collaboration between Detached and Contemporary Art Tasmania and now in 2016 also with MONA.  This is the first edition of the new partnership and upgraded program. Rob O’Connor and Nadege Philippe-Janon will undertake a rigorous schedule that enables career advancement, professional development and the creation of new work.  The individually tailored program includes studio meetings with visiting industry leaders, round table discussions, public programs, a publication and will culminate in September 2017 with an exhibition of work developed during the program.
